Carnivalesque stage of life, weight of appearance and implacable judgement of aspects.

Appearance as a possibility of the future.

In August 2020, in the centre of Allariz - Galicia, we discovered a fascinating photograph from 1925, captured by Manuel Riesco, which portrays twelve women. The image, in black and white and part of the Municipal Archive of Allariz, shows these women with defiant attitude and belle époque hairstyles. We wonder who they were, what happened to them. This image immersed us in the search for their forgotten stories. TABÚ, on the other hand, is a contemporary dance piece that presents five female characters from the 1920s in a carnival atmosphere of the Galician countryside, where each woman shows her taboo through a dynamic and accessible proposal for all audiences. The work questions: Appearance as a possibility for the future.
